This course is designed for managers, supervisors, permit issuers and other individuals who are responsible for work activities in confined spaces, including: maintenance and cleansing operations, building and refurbishment work, routine inspections, closed circuit TV operations, flow monitoring and surveys.

  • The ability to Identifying and assessing confined spaces
  • An understanding of atmospheric, physical and biological hazards
  • How to plan, develop and check safe systems of work
  • An introduction to specialised safety equipment
  • Emergency arrangements and procedures
  • How to develop a permit system for confined space entry including writing and issuing permits

Assessment

Learners must pass a multiple choice question paper and demonstrate competency in the practical assessments in order to achieve a pass. Our experienced and knowledgeable instructor will guide the learners through the course material and offer support and advice to ensure that learners are prepared for the assessments. The training is accessible and additional support is available to learners who require it.

Venue

This course can be carried out on customer’s premises. Requirements are a room with electrical supply where a Laptop and Projector can be used.

An easily controlled confined space are for non-entry practical exercises.

Certification

On successful completion of this course, a Boyd Group (Scotland) Ltd certificate will be issued to all delegates.

Duration

The training is carried out over one day (0900 – 1600 hrs approx).

Capacity
