This course will provide – through information and guidance – an interpretation of PUWER 1998 and associated legislation, to enable managers, supervisors and operatives to have sufficient knowledge to understand and apply them within their workplace.

The range of work equipment this legislation covers will also be discussed with trainees. The instructor will also cover risk assessments and how to report defects.

Completion of this course provides each delegate with:

  • Health and Safety at Work Etc Act 1974
  • PUWER 1998
  • Compliance with the ACoP
  • Application of PUWER
  • Safe use of work equipment
  • Risk assessment
  • Competence of worker
  • Range of work equipment
  • Reporting defects

Assessment

Learners must pass a multiple choice question paper in order to achieve the certificate. Our experienced and knowledgeable instructor will guide the learners through the course material and offer support and advice to ensure that learners are prepared for the assessment. The training is accessible and additional support is available to learners who require it.

Venue

This training course can be carried out on customer’s premises. Requirements are a room with an electrical supply where a laptop and projector can be used.

Certification

The certificate is valid for 5 years, after which time the course must be done again.

Duration

The training is carried out over one half day (3 hours).

Capacity
